This is one of a multi part post I was going to write yesterday on 6/6/06. The rest are soon to follow.

What if, seconds before your laptop began stalling, you could feel the hard drive spin up under the load? Or you could tell if an electrical cord was live before you touched it? For the few people who have rare earth magnets implanted in their fingers, these are among the reported effects — a finger that feels electromagnetic fields along with the normal sense of touch.
A Wired News article by Quinn Norton.
Any of you guys ready to give this a shot?!

Are you a frackin’ Cylon?

Yeah, I saw this earlier today. It’s all well and good until this guy walks next to an active MRI, and the magnet is ripped right out of his skin. No good.
Otherwise, though, very cool.

Ah… but you could probably SENSE the MRI from a few blocks away! ;)

Maybe Pablo should get this. Then we can carry him around in a tub of water and he could be our compass.
