Hey, thanks for the post. My WP got hacked too. It appears to be the database as well. So I basically did what you did, renamed the index.php and will follow your steps to search and repair the dB.

I also received their e-mail, I continued to communicate with them. They get my Bank Account Information now they are contacting me by phone several time to make contact with some ” Internal Revenue Service ” for obtaing a tax clearence certificate. After that I don’t contact with them, sure they are cheaters.
